Mims Michael Morris, Sr.

Mims Michael Morris, Sr., 59, passed away on Monday May 9, 2022. Mims was born on September 15, 1962, in Waynesboro to the late Adolphus T. Morris, Sr. and Bobbie Jean Muns Morris Barefield. He will always be remembered by his family and friends as a loving and devoted son, brother, and father. He worked hard cutting trees for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his father, Mims was preceded in death by a brother, John Morris; and a sister, Bobbie Dale Barefield.

Surviving are his three sons, Josh Michael Morris (Shannon), Cody Brandon Morris, Mims Michael Morris, Jr. all of Sardis; daughter, Samantha Morris Sheffield of Laurel, MS; mother, Bobbie Jean Muns Morris Barefield of Sardis; brothers, Tobby Morris of Millen, and Adolphus T. Morris, Jr. of Sardis; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday May 15, 2022, from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday May16, 2022, in the chapel of DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Sirmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Baptist Cemetery.
