Waynesboro, GA- Mrs. Mildred Smith Howard, 81 entered into rest Saturday, May 7, 2016. She was born in Macon on March 29, 1935 to the late Robert Lee Smith and Ellen Redmond Smith. She was a lifelong resident of this area and retired from Glenn Hills Elementary School after 29 years of service as the food service manager. Mrs. Howard was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church for 41 years and taught the Ruth Sunday School Class for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Lewis K. Howard; a brother, Robert Smith; and a sister, Lily Mae Maynard,

She is survived by three children, David Howard (Susan) of Dayton, OH, Bob Howard of Thomson, GA, and Cheryl Moses (Kenneth) of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, Will Howard, Evan Howard, Kelli Howard, Jillian Gunby (Dustin), Kacy Gustafson (Scott), and Kerry Ferguson (T.R.); four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:30am- 12:30pm Tuesday, May 10 at Rosemont Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, May 10 at Rosemont Baptist Church with Rev. Wes Lawson and David K. Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be T.R. Ferguson, Scott Gustafson, Evan Howard, Will Howard, Robert Williford, and Dustin Gunby. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Ruth Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rosemont Baptist Church Vision Fund.
