Waynesboro, GA-Mike B. Usher, 85, entered into rest Thursday, December 17, 2015, in Blairsville, GA after an extended illness.
Born in the Greens Cut community of Burke County, GA, he was the son of the late William Eugene "W.E." Usher and Georgia Lorena Martin. He graduated from Waynesboro High School. He was employed by Waynesboro Grocery Company for 17 years and finished with 28 years of automotive sales, most recently retiring from Link Chrysler.
Mike was a long time member of Greens Cut United Methodist Church and served as Treasurer for many years. He enjoyed cooking, spending time with his family, and his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. Mike will be remembered most for his kindness and his love for his Savior and Church.
He is survived by his two daughters, Angie Kelley (John) of Young Harris and Ellen Phillips (Bob) of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, Christy McClure (Jamie), John Kelley, Jr. (Ashley), Joshua Kelley (Katherine), Charles Kelley (Cassie), Laura Kathryn Kelley, Caroline Kelley, Michael Bob Phillips (Heather), and Ryan Phillips; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Rhodes, Billy Usher, Hugh Usher, Sterling Usher, and a granddaughter, Lydia Kelley.
Funeral Services will be 2:00pm December 22 at Greens Cut United Methodist Church. Rev. Jerry Sharpe will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Johnny Braswell, Mike Salemi, Henry Martin, Martin Saxon, Ray Saxon, Clyde Babb, Evan Martin, and Jerry Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be all members of Greens Cut United Methodist Church.
