Mike Griffis
April 25, 1938 — July 30, 2015
Mr. Griffis was born in Axson, Georgia and was a lifelong resident of Burke County. He was the manager and disc jockey for the WBRO radio station in Waynesboro for many years and was active Emceeing for Southern Gospel Concerts. He was a member of the Corinth Christian Church and was a Mason and a Shriner.
Surviving are, his wife, Patricia S. Griffis of Sardis, his children, Michael Grifffis and wife Kaye of Lawrenceville, Ga., Leticia Oliver and husband Jeff of Sardis, Jerome Walker and wife Liz of Sardis and Jarrod Walker and wife Amy of Rancho Santa Magarita, California; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2015, in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Chapel with the Reverend Travis Smith officiating. The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the Service.
Burial will be Private.
Active Pallbearers will be Corey Fitzgerald, Matthew Fitzgerald, Evan Fitzgerald, A.J. Walker, Jerome Walker, Jackson Oliver, and Jeff Oliver.
Remembrances may be made to a Charity of one's Choice.
