Michael A. "Sandman" Sanders, 54, entered into rest Thursday, November 21, 2019, at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. He was the owner and operator of TNT-Top Notch Transporting, an avid biker who loved riding Harleys with his friends and family, and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Annie Louise Sanders; and his brother, Bobby Sanders.
Surviving are his fianc, Penny Osborn of Waynesboro; his daughter, Rebecca Sanders of Waynesboro; his son, Michael "Spanky" Sanders of Waynesboro; his step-children, Daniel Barrs of Augusta, Cory Barrs of Waynesboro, and Trenton Barrs of Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins including his cousin, Greta Grant and his cousin Ernest Johnson.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 24, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2019, in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon George Saxon, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Fulcher Family Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be David "BO" Griffin, Ronald Blackwelder, Carl Grant, Dylan Snyder, Tony "TK" Kennedy, and Cory Barrs.
Remembrances may be made to the Georgia Cancer Center-Augusta University Health, Helping Hands Hospice, or the JD Paugh Memorial Foundation.
