Matthew Lovett

Matthew Francis Lovett, age 39, of Burke County, entered into rest on Monday, July 17, 2023. Matt was born on December 27, 1983, in Augusta, Georgia to John and Donna Lovett. He was a lifelong resident of Burke County. He was a 2002 graduate of Burke County High School and graduated Augusta Technical College in HVAC technology. Matt was employed by Coleman Mechanical. He was an active member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Waynesboro.

Matt was a loving father to three beautiful daughters; the perfect girl dad. He was a fun loving dad that always loved having a great time with his girls. He had a contagious laugh and a joyful smile and was loved immensely by his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Baylie, Mollie Kate, and Andi; a grandson, Carter; his mother, Donna Lovett; his loving partner, Sara Jane Dailey, all of Waynesboro; his siblings, Mark Lovett (Leigh) of Waynesboro, Leslie Washburn (Dallas) of Savannah, and Katie Riley (Jordan) of Raleigh, NC; nephews, Will, Owen, Charlie; and nieces, Ruby and Ellis. Matt is preceded in passing by his father, John McFerrin Lovett, Jr.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 22 at St Michael’s Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in the memorial garden.

Remembrances may be made to St. Michael’s or to the Wimberly House.
