Hephzibah – Mary Barbara Taylor, 82, passed away on Saturday June 15, 2019 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA. She was born on January 24, 1937, in Fayetteville, NC, to the late Leon Beau and Bernice Lockey.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very tenderhearted, and loved Elvis. Mary was a member of Full Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Clearwater, SC, and attended Crossroads Baptist Church in Hephzibah. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar C. Taylor; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Taylor; and granddaughter, Cynthia Renee Bullard.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Bates of Hephzibah and Kayla Renee Moreland (Justin) of Augusta; a son, Needon Alphin, Jr. of Augusta; granddaughter, Teresa Wantte Dixon of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Paul Lockey of Fayetteville, NC; great-grandson, Grady Lee Self III of Georgetown, KY, as well as five other great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
