Mary Estelle Stanford

September 28, 1914 — February 23, 2013

DEARING, GA- Mrs. Mary Estelle Knight Stanford entered into rest February 23, 2013 at her daughter's home. She was the wife of the late Barson B. Stanford. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2013 in the chapel of First United Methodist Church Waynesboro with Rev. Craig Hutto and Rev. Richard Knight officiating.

Born in Harleyville, SC, September 28, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Watson Daniel Knight and Mary Estelle Wimberly Knight. As an adult Mrs. Stanford lived for many years in Augusta.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers, including her twin brother. Survivors include her daughter, Jackie Hawkins of Dearing and son, Ken (Jean) Stanford of Waynesboro and four grandsons, Travis and Chris Hawkins (both of Dearing), Kevin Stanford (Asheville, NC) and Geoff Stanford (Charlotte, NC).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Waynesboro or Regency Hospice, Augusta. The family will receive friends at the home of Ken and Jean Stanford, 710 Academy Ave., Waynesboro from noon to 1:00 p.m., preceding the memorial service.
