Gough, GA - Mary E. McElhannon, 70,entered into rest on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Brentwood Terrace Health Center in Waynesboro, GA..She was born in Lexington, GA on September 21, 1939 to the late Tom W. and Leila Saxon McElhannon.She grew up in Georgetown, SC and was a member of First Baptist Church there.She moved to Gough in 1994.

She is survived by her brother, Joe Tom McElhannon of Gray, GA; sister, Audrey M. Hess (Allen, Sr.) of Gough; nephew, Tom Hess (Holli), of Kimberly, Alabama; niece, Elizabeth Hess of San Jose, CA; and two great nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Gough Baptist Church.Pastor F. L. Holloway and Rev. Richard Saxon will officiate.Interment will follow at Rose Dhu Cemetery in Vidette, GA..Pallbearers will be William Bessent, Joe Caulder, Michael Utley, Chris Mobley, Ebbie Liles, Neil Quick, and Elbert Baynham. The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 12:30 p.m.- 2:00 p.m..
