Hephzibah, GA. - Mary Lou Williams, 91, entered into rest Saturday morning, August 29, 2009 at Burke Medical Center, Waynesboro, GA. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, she was born October 23, 1917 to the late Eugene Thomason and Pearl Downey Thomason. While in Birmingham, she was a member of Hillview Baptist Church. For the past 17 years she had been a resident of Burke County, Georgia. She truly had a "green thumb" and enjoyed working with live plants. She was preceded in death by her husband, Llewellyn Cool Williams, who was a Mason and was raised in Republic, Alabama. Also preceding her are two sons, Reese Alan Williams, and Reeves Lawrence Williams.
She is survived by a son, William E. "Bill" Williams, of Blythe, GA; two daughters, Mary A. Gaiser (Jerry), of Perkins, GA; Honour "Peggy" Anderson (the late Carl Anderson), of Hephzibah, GA; two daughters in law, Deanna Williams, of Homestead, FL; Bonnie Williams, of St. Cloud, FL; three sisters, Hazel Collier (Jack), Betty Jean Parker, and Billie Ruth Green, all of Birmingham, Alabama; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be private.
The family suggests that memorials in memory of Mary Lou Williams be sent to a charity of one's choice.
