Mary Dixon Hatcher, 95, entered into rest Sunday, February 2, 2025. She was born in Girard to the late Charles Fulword “Fully” and Alberta “Berta” Long Dixon and was a lifelong resident of Burke County. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Rayford Dixon, Earl Dixon, Otis Dixon, and Dan Dixon; and her sisters, Margie Reddick Scott, Floy Carroll, Reba Moody, and Susie Mallard Ward.
She is survived by five children, Grady Dixon (Vicky) of Sardis, Ralph Odom of Sardis, Glynn Odom of Sardis, Samuel Hatcher of Sardis, and Sheila Zipperer Summerlin (Bill) of Sardis; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; three brothers, Ira Dixon of Girard, Herbie Dixon (Nell) of Girard, and Charles Dixon of Girard; a sister, Patricia Taylor (Jake) of Augusta; a sister-in-law, Nancy Lee Dixon of Girard; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held 2:00pm Thursday, February 6 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
