Mary Clarke Godbee

Girard – Mrs. Mary Clarke Godbee, 84, passed away on Thursday June 29, 2017 at Sylview Nursing Home in Sylvania, Ga. Mrs. Godbee was born in Jenkins County and was a lifelong resident of Girard, GA. She was a member of East Burke Baptist Church. Mrs. Godbee never met a stranger and always had a place at her table for anyone who stopped by. Her unwavering faith in God was evident in her presence. Mrs. Godbee was preceded in death by her husband Emory A. Godbee, Sr., a son Emory A. Godbee, Jr., and a granddaughter Allison Farrer.
Surviving are her children Teresa Sikes (Donnie), Jasper Godbee, Eddie Godbee (Charlotte), Nancy Farrer, Connie Wheeler (Randy), Sandra Wilson, and Thomas Godbee (Teresa); 15 Grandchildren, 35 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday July 1, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Deloach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday July 2, 2017 at Botsford Baptist Church with the Reverend David Dixon and the Reverend Steve Sirmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
