Mary Mathis Flakes, 90, entered into rest Thursday, January 28, 2021. She was born in Keysville to the late Ada and John Mathis and was a lifelong resident of Burke County. She worked at Burke Manufacturing for many years. She was a member of Botsford Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir, WMU, and the Silver and Gold Sunday School Class. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Flakes; a daughter, Jacqueline F. McLeRoy; and a son, Danny Flakes

She is survived by 6 children, James E. Flakes (Lynn) of Waynesboro, Jimmy Flakes (Deryl) of Waynesboro, Ricky Flakes (April) of Waynesboro, Brenda F. Holden (Kenny) of Grovetown, Donna F. Stuckey of Blythe, and Tim D. Flakes (Tammy) of Waynesboro; son-in-law, Charles McLeRoy of Waynesboro; daughter-in-law, Shirley Flakes of Waynesboro; many grand, great and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Saturday, February 6 in the funeral home chapel with Bill Lively and Rev. Mike Dann officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to Botsford Baptist Church Playground Fund.
