Mary Q. Brown, 87, of Waynesboro, passed away on December 4, 2019, at the Bethany Nursing Home in Millen, GA. Mary was born on October 3, 1932, in Girard, GA, to the late Twid and Willie Mae Quick. She retired from Suburban Propane after many years of service. Mary loved to garden and tend to her flowers. She also enjoyed watching birds. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro. She was a very Christian lady who truly loved the Lord. Mary was loved by everyone and she will truly be missed. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Burwell J. Brown; children, Billy Gean Mead and Mary Elizabeth Mead; grandchild, Travis Minick; five brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are her daughters, Iris Mead of Atlanta and Jane Williams (Frank) of Waynesboro; son, Jim Brown (Sharon) of Savannah; sisters, Debra Sasser of Millen, Audrey Hunt (Steve) of Columbia, SC, and Jane Neeley of Augusta; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 12:30 – 1:30 PM, at the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday December 7, 2019, at the Burke Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with the Dr. G. Al Wright, Jr. officiating.
