Sarah Marjorie (McBride) Story went peacefully to heaven on May 27, 2019: She was doing what she loved best, tending to her beloved flower garden.She was born August 2, 1927, and was a lifelong resident of Burke County.She was born in Vidette, GA and then settled in Waynesboro with her husband Ben, where they raised their 5 children. Marjorie was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, the Burkeland Garden Club, the Town and Country Woman's Club and Joyce Gray's Bible Study. Marjorie will be remembered as a woman who loved her family, her friends and her flowers, but above all the Lord.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ben Steed Story and son, Benjamin Frederick Story. She is survived by daughter, Sarah Rebeccah Brown (Bill) and three sons, Samuel Gaines Story (Julie), William Milledge Story (Jean), and Charles McBride Story (Melissa), 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and daughters-in-law, Patricia Story and Renee Ellenberger.Marjorie was also the proud Aunt of many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday evening May 30 from 7-8:30 pm at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday, May 31 at 11 am at First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, 810 Myrick Street.Marjorie's grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
