Vidette, GA- Mrs. Marion J. Penrow Askew, 85, entered into rest Thursday, December 3, 2015, at her residence. She was born on May 23, 1930 in Jefferson County to the late Era and Claude Gray. She was a resident of Vidette, a member of Gough Baptist Church and attended Burkehaven Chapel in Waynesboro. Mrs. Marion was a homemaker and loved to cook for her children. She loved working in the garden, taking care of her flowers, and loved camping out with her family. She enjoyed fishing and eating them. She was a very good mom to her kids and will be missed greatly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her first husband, Floyd T. Penrow and her second husband, Quinton Askew.
She is survived by four children, Johnny Penrow (Connie), Ann McNair (Bob), Steve Penrow (Nancy) and Andre Penrow (Inez); seven grandchildren, Chris Penrow, Bobby McNair, Pamela Skuza, Michael Penrow, Brian Penrow, Amanda Hendley, and Alexis Wilson; many great grandchildren; a brother, Bufford Gray (Vallie); and a sister, Nellie Pizzie.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, December 6 at Burkehaven Chapel (498 Park Dr. Waynesboro, GA 30830) with Garry Morgan and James Gay officiating. Visitation will follow the services.
One of her last wishes was for everyone to attend her service in blue jeans, if you would like to.
