Marilyn Frances Kilpatrick DeLaigle 88, the daughter of the late James Franklin and Annie Jackson Kilpatrick entered into rest and went to be her Lord on Friday, July 12, 2019. Mrs. DeLaigle was born in Alexander, she attended schools in Alexander and Sardis and graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1948. She spent six years in Germany with her husband who was in the Army and lived in many States during his 20 years in the service. Her children said that she was a very devoted mother when their father had to be gone for months at a time. She was a Cub Scout leader when they lived in Columbus, Georgia; she was a Christian and was a member of Botsford Baptist Church and the Senior Citizen Club at the Church. Mrs. DeLaigle was a lover of flowers and animals, she owned and operated Marilyn's Nursery near Waynesboro from 1979 to 1984. She spent her last year's visiting her family that was located in many parts of the country, she and her husband loved the West and visited there every year.
Mrs. DeLaigle was married to Mr. Herbert DeLaigle for 71 years who entered into rest 12 hours prior to her on July 12, 2019.
Surviving are, her children, Herbert J. DeLaigle and wife JoAnn of Newport News, VA., Renee D. Rowell of Waynesboro, Donald L DeLaigle and wife Patti of Waynesboro, Edwin P. DeLaigle and wife Teresa of Homer Ga., Helen Iris DeLaigle of Martinez and James M. DeLaigle and wife Connie of Enoch, Utah; her brother, Glen F. Kilpatrick of Waynesboro, sixteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Mrs. DeLaigle and Mr. DeLaigle will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2019 at Botsford Baptist Church with the Reverend Andy Allen and Reverend Mike Dann officiating. Burial will follow in the Botsford Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Tyler Bridgers, Colin Quick, Kyle Delaigle, Brad DeLaigle, Adam DeLaigle, Neil Quick, Troy Quick, Matt Brinson and Steve Brinson.
