Marie Elizabeth Allen

Marie Elizabeth Allen, 95, entered into rest Tuesday, December 3, 2024. She was born on August 22, 1929, in Adell, GA to the late Otto and Carrie Hayes. She has lived in Plant City FL, Riverdale, GA, and moved to Sardis, GA in 1985. Marie worked as a school crossing guard, retired from Star Packaging, and retired from the Burke County School System as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Allen; a son, Carl Dale Allen; a granddaughter, Crystal White; a grandson, Preston Fleming; a brother, Bronson Hayes; and three sisters, Dewilla Brown, Ruth Burrell, and Linda Tettering.

She is survived by three children, Glenn (Janice) Allen of Bloomingdale, GA, Sharon (David) Hartwig of Cape Coral, FL, and Kathy (Barry) Fleming of Tyrone, GA; a daughter-in-law, Gale Allen of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren, Tiffany, Ashleigh, Candance, Christopher, Nicole, Neil, and Brooke; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Ouida Green of Sun City, FL, Jean Adams of Las Vegas, NV; and Myrtle Ann Jones of AL; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00pm Friday, December 27 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Tidwell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
