Margie Quick Lively, 97, entered into rest Monday, March 31, 2025. She was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. She was a member of Botsford Baptist Church. Margie’s sense of humor prevailed through trials and blessings. She knew the value of a dollar and the value of all her children loving the Lord. She lived her life for the Lord and her children. An open Bible was always on her kitchen table and her kitchen was always open for food and gatherings of her family. Margie loved her country, flying her flags, and always prayed for the soldiers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josie Flakes and Joe Wheeler Quick; her husband, Keely Otto Lively, Sr.; four sisters, Pearl Quick, Mary Quick Bargeron, Ollie Quick Garza, and Catherine Quick Gatch; and a brother Joe Wheeler Quick.
She is survived by four children, Wheeler Oliver Lively (Mary) of Waynesboro, Keely Otto Lively, Jr. (Brenda) of Waynesboro, Geraldine Lively Hannah (Robert) of Savannah, and Cynthia Lively of Spartanburg; six grandchildren, Bonnie Lively Stikeleather (Hugh) of Leesville, SC, Crystal Lively Calhoun (Tony) of Dothan, AL, Jill Hannah Mobley (Arthur) of Fairfax, VA, Marci Hannah Bourland (Andrew) of Brunswick, Tara Lively Syms (Chad) of Waynesboro, and Charles Narey Jeter (Tina) of Spartanburg; 11 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Louie Quick of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Gladys Quick Gallup of Roswell; two sisters-in-law, Katie Lively Powell (Chester) and Margaret Brinson Lively both of Waynesboro; a special niece, Carol O’Pry of Waynesboro; a close friend, Linda Uhl of Waynesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, April 2 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Thursday, April 3 at Botsford Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Dann officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Connor Syms, Charles Jeter III, Benjamin Mobley, Trey Molner, Tony Calhoun, Blake Stikeleather, and Huey Stikeleather.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Keysville Nursing Home staff, and especially Tiffany, Little Anna Lee, Jamie, Jakira and Dr. Christian.
Remembrances may be made to St. Jude or Botsford Baptist Church.
