Margaret Hill Elliott

Margaret Hill Elliott, 91, of Waynesboro passed away on June 3, 2023 at her residence. She was born April 17, 1932, in Burke County, to the late Marion L. Hill, Sr. and Alice Wiggins Hill. Margaret retired from the Bank of Waynesboro after 45 years of service. She was a Pink Lady at Burke County Medical Center and served as the treasurer for that organization several years. Margaret was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro for 80 years and a member of the Church’s Sunshine Circle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Marion L. Hill, Jr and Franklin Hill; and a sister, Mary H. Randall.

She is survived by two daughters, Alicia Hall (Brad) of Tampa, FL and Suzanne Sharkey (John) of Waynesboro: grandson, Jason Sapp of Augusta; granddaughter, Taylor Thomas of Waynesboro; life-long friend, Tanis Mobley of Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Waynesboro First United Methodist Church, 11:00 AM Wednesday June 7th, with the Rev. Dr. G. Al Wright officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Sunshine Circle.
