Malona, a native and lifelong resident of Burke County, was truly a remarkable woman, whose generous spirit and concern for others made her an inspiration to all who knew her.She and her husband Percy Dixon came from humble beginnings and worked side-by-side to develop one of the most successful farms in the county. They were a true team, both in business and in their marriage.
Through family tragedy, she relied on her faith in Christ our Lord. She loved her family immensely, and her faith and love for the Lord never wavered. She centered everything on the traditional values of faith, character, integrity, and hard work.Malona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and mother-in-law.Her kind-hearted soul was generous to everyone she met, and she was the best friend anyone could have.Malona was willing to help anyone in need, and her home and table were always open.
Malona's most remarkable attribute was her sweetness and unselfishness. She truly had a "heart of gold," and it was evident to anyone who knew her.Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life, and she would light a room with her smile when she spoke of them. She was the matriarch of her family, the rock that all leaned upon, and the glue that held them all together.
With a sense of style and appreciation of beautiful things, Malona was a woman ahead of her time, with a sharp intellect and a keen sense of humor. She loved to work in her home and took pride in keeping it in immaculate condition.Malona lovingly dedicated her life to her church, family, and many friends.
