Lucille Stewart, 70, entered into rest Monday, August 12, 2019. She was born on June 23, 1949, in Matthews, GA to the late Rose W. and John Willie Amerson. She was a loving mother and caregiver, who would help anyone she could. Lucille loved her grandchildren. She was a hard worker, a really good cook, enjoyed going to yard sales and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Pilcher Stewart, Sr.; and longtime companion, Clarence Overstreet.
She is survived by her son, Jim Pilcher Stewart, Jr. (Janet Barron) of Millen; her daughter, Kay Thomas of Millen; her longtime partner, Jody Collins of Millen; six grandchildren, Ashley Gamiza (Kevin) of Swainsboro, Krikett Lucas (David) of Waynesboro, Jim Stewart III, Jake Stewart, Clarance Stewart all of Millen, and Amanda Farrer of Sardis; four great grandchildren, Gage and Hunter Gamiza and Gage and Skylar Farrer.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday, August 16 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 11am Saturday, August 17 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Matthews. Pallbearers will be Jim Stewart III, Steven Sikes, Jimmy Overstreet, Billy Overstreet, Charles Overstreet, Joey Davis, James Joyner, and Cody Overstreet.
