Lovett Martin Skinner entered into rest Wednesday, July 4, 2018, surrounded by family at his home in Sardis, GA. Martin was the husband of Beth Jenkins Skinner for 58 wonderful years. Lifelong and proud resident of Sardis, he graduated from SGA in 1959. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.
Martin spent many years living life to the fullest with his wife as owners of the Skinner Auction Gallery.He traveled to great extents to get the finest antiques for his business.He had a true love for both traveling and antiques. He loved to spend his free time gardening, birdwatching, cooking, and making recipe books.He especially loved animals, particularly his dog and companion, Bingo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Dell Wimberly Skinner & Milton Skinner, along with his sister, Rachel Skinner Brunson.
He is survived by his wife, Beth; twin brother, Marvin Skinner (Dot) of Millen; daughter, Darlene Skinner Beazley of Waynesboro; and two sons, Marty Skinner of North Augusta, SC and David Skinner (Julie) of Charleston, SC. Grandchildren include, Crystal Skinner, Justin Westbrook, Chase Beazley (Jessy), Laken Skinner Hardin (David), Tori Beazley, Lindsey Beazley Keller (John), Megan Skinner Belk (Dusty), David Skinner II, and Christian Skinner. Great Grandchildren include, Avery Hardin, Jackson Beazley, Liam Ansley, Zoey Hardin, and Emery Hardin.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning July 7 from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M., followed by the Memorial Service at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
