Linda "Mawmaw" Ann Havard

Linda “MawMaw” Ann Havard, 76, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. She was a native of Fort Payne, Alabama and a longtime resident of Hephzibah, Georgia. She was an avid floral gardener and loved to bird watch, especially her hummingbirds. In her early years, she enjoyed bowling and was known to participate in a game or two of arm wrestling. She played various games of cards and delighted in her skills at poker.

Linda was a loving mother, devoted wife, and precious Maw-Maw to her grandchildren. She was the center of the family and set the bar high for being a mother and parent. She loved her family and friends and appointed herself as their personal protector. Her witty and sassy personality will be greatly missed by her family and friends but we have no doubt she is dancing in the Heavens with her beloved Jimmy and they are strolling over Heaven together. Mrs. Havard was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Havard; her siblings, Lavonia McAbee, Danny Nelson, and Bobby Nelson.

Surviving are her son, James Havard (Becky) of Hephzibah; her daughter, Tina Martin (Thomas) of Hephzibah; her sister, Karen Pratt (Gary) of St. Augustine, FL; her brother, Kenneth Nelson of Fort Lauderdale, FL; her grandchildren, Jeremy Havard, Morgan Havard, Taylor Martin Ivey (Brett), Tori Martin; and one great granddaughter, Charlee Kate Ivey.

Visitation will be Friday, January 19, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024, in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Michael Rochester officiating. A private entombment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
