Leonard R. Herndon

Leonard R. Herndon, 75, entered into rest Thursday, April 6, 2023. He was a native of Florida and a longtime resident of Burke County. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a Sergeant in the Military Police. Leonard retired from the Burke County Road Department and was an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by his father, Elven Herndon.

He is survived by his wife Donna Herndon; four children, Wade Herndon (Karen) of Sardis, Michael Spencer (Christina) of Waynesboro, Jenny Taylor (Joseph) of Waynesboro, and Daniel Willis of Sardis; six grandchildren, Cameron Jones, Caleb Herndon, Kagan Herndon, Chase Spencer, Joey Taylor, Ayden Broxton, Mason Taylor, and Jeremy Willis; his mother, Elsie Herndon of Fellsmere, FL; and two sisters; Avis Herndon of Fellsmere, FL and Christy MacWilliam (Edgar) of Sebastian, FL.

Memorial Services will be held 6:00pm Wednesday, April 12 in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
