Lawrence Michael Smith, 71, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at his residence. Mr. Smith was a native of Orlando, FL, was a resident of Ferndale, FL, before moving to Girard. He was a member of the Ferndale Baptist Church, the Sardis Baptist Church, Waynesboro Church of God, and an ordained Minister of the Gospel Open Church Ministry. He enjoyed hunting, knife making, and sharing Jesus. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvel E. and Della B. Smith and his brother, David Smith.

Surviving are his wife, Janice Nichols Smith; his children, Duane Rogers of Knoxville, TN, Joey Griffin of Sumter, SC, Michael Rogers of Hephzibah, Tammy Tyler of Lexington, SC, April Blair of Bat Cave NC, and Dana Quick of Sardis; his brothers, Butch Smith, Chuck Smith, Rob Smith, and Billy Smith all of FL; his sister, Linda Ferguson of Florida; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020, in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill King and Reverend Matt Wigley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
