Hephzibah, GA – Larry L. Allen, 72, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the VA Hospital in Augusta. He was born on December 13, 1945, to the late Lee and Marie Sheppard Allen and spent most of his life in Burke County. He proudly served our nation in the Vietnam War as a member of the US Army. Larry attended the First Baptist Church of Waynesboro. He enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren, playing his guitar, spending time at the lake, going fishing, baking cakes, and riding motorcycles in the mountains. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathryn Allen of Hephzibah; a daughter, Heather Allen (Tom Burke) of Columbia, S.C.; a son, Jake Allen of Hephzibah; three grandchildren, Anthony Manzari of Columbia, S.C., Lily Burke of Columbia, S.C., and Lokey Rodriguez of Augusta; a sister, Diane Allen of Augusta; and a brother, Rick Allen (Lorraine) of Augusta.

Memorial Services will be 12:00pm Saturday, September 15 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro, GA, with Skip Stewart and Boyce "Bo" Thompson speaking in behalf of the family. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Casual attire encouraged.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd, Augusta, GA 30909.
