Waynesboro, GA - Katherine Victoria Glisson Lively, 83, went to be with Jesus January 11, 2010 in University Hospital in Augusta, GA after a brief illness.Mrs. Lively was born in Effingham County on November 22, 1926 to Morris Victor and Freddie Lee Glisson.She married Q. U. Lively, Sr. in Waynesboro on December 22, 1946 and partnered with him in raising their four children; Quartus Urbane Lively, Jr. (Susan) of Waynesboro; Donald C. Lively of Waynesboro; Sherry Lively Brinson (Larry) of Decatur, GA and William B. Lively (Debbie), of Waynesboro.Mr. and Mrs. Lively farmed their property in Shell Bluff for nearly 40 years before retiring in 1984.

Mrs. Lively, "Kat", was a long time member of Botsford Baptist Church and served in many different positions of service in her years there, including Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Director, and WMU Leader.Mrs. Lively sang in the Botsford choir up until one month before her death.Mrs. Lively volunteered as a Pink Lady at Burke County Hospital for many years before moving to Brentwood Terrace in November of 2007.

Mrs. Lively is survived by her four children; her grandchildren, Shannon Lively Norton (Scott) of Martinez, GA, Quartus Urbane Lively, III (Amy) of Waynesboro, Emily Katherine Lively, of Lakewood, CO, Abbey Lively Miller (Jeremy) of Austin, TX, Zachary S. Lively (Rachel) of San Diego, CA, Joseph Larry Brinson, Redondo Beach, CA, Stefan Lively Brinson, Decatur, GA, Kaitlyn Aliza Brinson, Decatur, GA, Lauren Yelton Lively and William Boyd Lively, Jr. both of Waynesboro; one special niece, BeLea Lively Davidson, (George) Augusta, GA; her four great grandchildren, Maisey Grace Norton, Rilyn Faith Norton, Saylor Kate Norton, Martinez, GA and Holland Paige Miller, of Austin, TX; two sisters, Alice Glisson Deal (Travis), Metter, GA and Margie Glisson Kirkland, Waynesboro, GA; two brothers, Edward E. Glisson (Jackie), of Waynesboro and Truman Lee Glisson (Jean), of Metter, GA as well as her brother-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband and two brothers, Morris Victor Glisson (Alice) and George Lewis Glisson (Grace).

The family will greet visitors at DeLoach-McKerley Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 13th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.Funeral Services will be held at Botsford Baptist Church, Thursday, Jan. 14 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a short graveside service.Rev. Wayne Dixon will officiate the services.Pallbearers will be Mrs. Lively's sons and grandsons.Honorary pallbearers will be Edward E. Glisson, Truman Lee Glisson, Larry W. Brinson, Travis Deal, Scott Norton, Jeremy Miller, George Davidson, Avner, Allen, and DeRossie DeLaigle.

The family would like to offer a special note of appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and other staff members of University Hospital Palliative Care Unit as well as Trinity Hospice.
