Waynesboro, GA- Julia Rowell Bailey, 80, entered into rest Wednesday, March 4, 2015, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lee Messex and Vader Jackson Messex; her first husband, James Bohlor Rowell, Jr.; a son, David Rowell; 3 brothers, Robert Messex, Rufus Lee Messex, and Miller Messex; and 2 sisters, Lucille Hunter and Belle Wilson.
She is survived by her husband, Walter K. "Pee Wee" Bailey of Waynesboro; 3 sons, James B. "Jimmy" Rowell III (Renee) of Waynesboro, William T. "Tommy" Rowell (Debra) of Waynesboro, and Jason N. Bailey of Waynesboro; 9 grandchildren, Shannon C. "Shae" Rowell Ward ("C.C.") of Waynesboro, J. Amanda Rowell Mobley of Waynesboro, James B. "Jim" Rowell IV of Sandersville, Brigitte K. Dixon of Waynesboro, Rhonda R. Quick (Neil) of Waynesboro, Martie O. Dixon of Girard, Jillian U. Powell (Josh) of Sardis, Shelly Rowell Bailey of Waynesboro, and Carrie A. Rowell of Waynesboro; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6-8pm Thursday, March 5 at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held 2pm Friday, March 6 at Green's Cut United Methodist Church. Rev Jerry Sharpe will officiate. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jason Bailey, Jim Rowell, John Conner, Winston Conner, Bill Usher, and Woody Hayes.
