Waynesboro, GA - Jud Kirby, 74, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 22, 2011.He was born on October 31, 1937 in Chattanooga, TN to the late William Frank Kirby and Mary Wilson Kirby.He retired from Perfection Industries having worked there for over 45 years.He enjoyed fishing, especially with his friend, the late Shirley Moses.He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Sara Kirby; son, Roy Leon Kirby; grandson, Mitchell Drew Oglesby; and four siblings, Andy Kirby, Billy Melvin Kirby, Martha Ann Koss, and Betty Hunter.
He is survived by five children, Ronnie Kirby, Mary Oglesby (Mitchell), Sandra "Sissy" Reeves, all of Waynesboro, William Franklin Kirby of Sikeston, MO, and Deborah Kirby (Wayne) of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, Ronnie Kirby, Jr., Elizabeth Kirby, Stephanie Kirby, James Oglesby, Christy Hobbs, Brandy Kirby, Christopher Schugard, and Krista Schugard; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ed Kirby; and sister, Frankie Counts.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 24, at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, at the funeral home.Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers will be Billy Sikes, T. J. Oglesby, Donnie Sikes, Juan "Johnny C" Casarez, James Frank Rackley, Kenneth Moses, Keith Redd, and Jim Reeves.
