Waynesboro, GA - Joyce Reeves Rowell, of Green's Cut Community, passed away October 6, 2016. Joyce was the loving wife of William "Billy" Rowell for 48 years and a loving, fun mother of four children, Rusty, Ronnie, Kim, and Karen. She lived most of her life in Green's Cut with her family. When her husband Billy left for the Navy, Joyce saved every paycheck for his four years of service, and with those savings, they opened Rowell's Electric Service in Waynesboro in 1955. She was a homemaker until her children went to school and worked part-time at Rowell's Electric through 2015. Through the years, Joyce really enjoyed many summers and weekends with her family and close friends at their lake house at Clarks Hill, sunning at the lake, fishing, boating, entertaining with fish fries every weekend, and making many treasured memories. Joyce and Billy also loved going out with their many friends for dinner and dancing. Through hard work and equipment promotion sales, Joyce and Billy were able to travel to many places including Russia, Paris, and Hawaii. Their home was always open, providing a loving, caring, fun place for relatives in need.Joyce always enjoyed drinking coffee with friends when her children were young, and when she went to work, she had coffee and lunch every day at the Lakeview Restaurant, always at booth number one. Joyce could often be found outside tending to her yard and garden. She was adored by her husband and children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Louise Reeves; her loving husband of 48 years, William "Billy" D. Rowell, Sr.; a sister, Theresa R. Holland; and a brother, Nickie Reeves.

She is survived by four children, William "Rusty" D. Rowell, Jr. (Joy) of Waynesboro, Ronald D. Rowell (Renee) of Waynesboro, Kim R. McCurry (Chris) of Ball Ground, GA, and Karen L. Rowell (David Smith) of Milledgeville, GA; ten grandchildren, Whitney R. Diehl (Adam) of Augusta, Will Rowell of Waynesboro, Dustin Rowell (Channing) of Waynesboro, Ashley Manley of Atlanta, John Manley of Atlanta, Field Manley of Atlanta, Jeffrey McCurry (Holly) of Canton, GA, Luke McCurry of New Orleans, LA, Billy McCurry of Ball Ground, GA, and Julia Elizabeth Hinson of Milledgeville; three great grandchildren, Bailey Rowell, Elin Rowell, and Natalie McCurry; a sister, Vickie Bacon of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, Ted Reeves of Augusta, and Stevie Reeves of Martinez; and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm Monday, October 10th at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, October 11th at Greens Cut United Methodist Church with Dr. Lamar Holley and Reverend Jerry Sharpe officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Will Rowell, Dustin Rowell, Jeffrey McCurry, Luke McCurry, Billy McCurry, Field Manley, and John Manley.
