Joyce Ann Quick Braswell

She was a devout Christian lady who loved the Lord. She has been a member of the Waynesboro Church of God for 57 years where she taught Sunday School to children and helped run the bus ministry. She would get up on Sunday morning, go into homes, and dress the kids to ride the bus to church. Her mission in life was to witness to as many people about where they would spend eternity and to know about the Lord. She worked many years at Burke County Hospital and Georgia Regional Health Hospital. She was part owner of Raggedy Ann & Andy Day Care Center, and also worked at Brentwood Terrace Nursing Home. Joyce had a home day care where she kept many children in this town. She was the neighborhood "Nannie" to all, young and old.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Pearl Quick; and three brothers, Sterling Quick, Wallace Quick, and Ray Quick.
Joyce is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Bobby Braswell; a son, Rodney Braswell (Shannon) and their children, Annabelle and Foster; a daughter, Sonya Fitzgerald (Corlett) and her children, Chad Franke (Suzanne), Shawn Franke (Taylor), Aaron Weeks (girlfriend Casey); great grandchildren, Madelyn Franke and Mason Franke; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Rachel Ross (Bud), and Angie Doyle (Elmon); many nieces and nephews; brothers in law, sisters in law, her best friend of many years, Jean Daniel; and her favorite doctor, Dr. Joe Jackson, Jr. whom she adored.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11:00 am at Waynesboro Church of God. Reverend Joey Grizzle and Reverend Matt Wigley will officiate. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Active pallbearers will be Chad Franke, Shawn Franke, Aaron Weeks, Rodney Braswell, Angie Doyle, and Dr. Joe Jackson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Hal Braswell, Jeff Braswell, Ryan Ross, Jason Quick, Jeremy Quick, Billy Braswell, and Joshua Doyle.
Remembrances may be made to Waynesboro Church of God Building Fund, Post Office Box 150, Waynesboro, GA 30830.
