Waynesboro, GA - Johnny C. Whisnant, 59, entered into rest Monday, April 5, 2010.The Augusta native was born January 8, 1951 to the late Morris and Hazel Whisnant.He will always be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman who loved his family dearly.Johnny was a veteran of the United States Army.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vaughn Whisnant and Larry Wayne Whisnant.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Teresia Rabun Whisnant; step-daughter, Leslie Rena Brown of North Augusta; step-son, Shawn Michael Brown of Waynesboro; brother, Billy Whisnant of Hephzibah; two sisters, Joyce Wiggins of Augusta and Mary Ann Wilkins of Hephzibah; six grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the cemetery.The family will be accepting friends at 510 Lake Crystal Drive, Waynesboro.
