John McFerrin Lovett, Jr. 75, of Burke County, entered into rest Sunday, January 15, 2023. He was born in Millen to the late Rubye and John “Mac” Lovett, Sr. He was a member of St Michael’s Episcopal Church. John served for many years on the board of Family and Children Services and also on the Tax Assessor board. He was a loving husband of 50+ years and loving father.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Lovett; four children, Mark Lovett (Leigh) of Waynesboro, Leslie Washburn (Dallas) of Savannah, Katie Riley (Jordan) of Raleigh, NC, and Matthew Lovett of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, Baylie, Will, Owen, Mollie, Charlie, Ruby, Ellis, and Andi; one great grandson, Carter; a sister, Becky Quick (Louie) of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Jim Lovett (Lynn) of Tifton, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held 10:00am Saturday, January 21 at St Michael’s Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in the memorial garden.
Remembrances may be made to St Michael’s or the Wimberly House.
