Wrens, GA - John W. Amerson, 63, entered into rest Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Burke Medical Center, Waynesboro.He was born on October 25, 1945 in Burke County, Georgia to the late John Willie Amerson, Sr. and Rosa Lee Windom Amerson.He was employed by Elberton Granite and Marble as a granite stone maker.He was a member of Wrens Nazarene Church and was a fisherman at heart.He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Pate, and his brother, Ernest Amerson.
He is survived by his daughter, Arlene Zipperer; his brothers, Clarence Atkinson and Johnny Atkinson; his sisters, Bessie Atkinson, Lucille Stewart, Catherine Duke, and Virginia Allen; his four grandchildren; and one special child.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009, at DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro, GA.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro, on Friday, May 1, 2009.Pallbearers will be John Atkinson, Jr., Jimmy Stewart, Jr., James Atkinson, Glenn Atkinson, Jimmy Duke, and Lewis Smith.Burial will follow at Keysville Methodist Cemetery, Keysville, GA.
