Joe Franklin Lairscy, Jr., 62, entered into rest Saturday, April 1, 2023. He was born in Sylvania to the late Joe Franklin Lairscy, Sr. and Sarah Boykin Rhodes and was a lifelong resident of Burke County. He worked as a lineman for over 40 years. He was a good-hearted free-spirit who accepted and loved all. Joe was kind and generous. He loved to hunt, fish, and tell stories. He was a loving father, brother, and friend to many and will be missed and his memory will be forever cherished. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Lackman.
He is survived by two sons, Joe Lairscy III and Jason Lairscy; five grandchildren, Lily Grace Lairscy, Jason Lairscy, Jr., Madyson Lairscy, Brynn Lairscy, and Cort Lairscy; his mother, Sarah Boykin Rhodes; two sisters, Carolyn Sexton and Nancy Taylor; two nephews, Zack and Clint Hagan; a step-daughter, Christy Hobbs; and his best friend, Keith Sikes.
Memorial Services will be held 4:30pm Wednesday, April 5 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jimmy Napier officiating.
