Girard, GA.- Mr. Jimmy Long, 66, of Millhaven Rd. entered into rest late Friday, July 17th, 2009, at University Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Long was born on the old home place in Girard on February 7th, 1943 to the late J.P. Long and Nancy Reddick Long. He worked as a Farmer, Dairyman, and Logger for most of his life. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Girard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Elaine Long; 4 children, Chris Long (Sheila), of Girard; DeLaine Quick (Ernest "Bubba"), of Waynesboro; Caroll Long (Christy), of Girard; and Daryl Long (Jenna), of Girard; 2 sisters, Elsie Wiggins (Morris), of Mt. Olive, NC; Virginia Carr (Harry), of Beaufort, SC; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 19th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Funeral Services will be Monday, July 20th at 11:00 am at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Millhaven Rd. Girard, GA. Pastor Dan Bowen will be officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Carr, Wayne Wiggins, Greg Wiggins, Craig Clayton, Randy DeLaigle, and Blaine Lamar.
