Jimmie Roger Spires

Jimmie Roger Spires, 88, entered into rest Tuesday, August 01, 2023. He was a native of Orangeburg, SC and a longtime resident of Burke County. He retired from International Paper after 32 years and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sons, James Earl Spires and Clinton Spires.

He is survived by his wife, Ester Spires; two children, Vinson Spires (Marsha) of Waynesboro and Christine Smith of Statham, GA; daughter-in-law, Grace Spires of Waynesboro; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a sister, Azleen Johnson.

Funeral Services will be 5:00pm Friday, August 4 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matt Shryock and Gary Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Remembrances may be to the Bethel Baptist Cemetery Fund.
