It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jason Jay Jenkins, age 43, of Keysville, GA.He was a beloved husband, brother, Uncle, Freemason, and Shriner.Jason left us suddenly on December 16, 2018 to take the dirt road home to his Lord and Savior.He will be remembered by his friends and loved ones for his ready smile and his great sense of humor.
At a young age, Jason answered the family calling and he quickly mastered the carpenter's trade.In school, he developed an equal affinity for football and the pursuit of knowledge, showing natural athleticism and a desire to learn that many remember him for to this date.Jason also loved working with is hands and tending the land.He enjoyed riding horses, raising chickens and pigs and spending time on the tractor.
Jason was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on April 12, 2012 and Served as the Worshipful Master of Waynesboro Masonic Lodge in 2016.An Alee Shriner from the Oasis of Savannah, Jason was active in the Waynesboro Shrine Club, where he is past President, and the Augusta Shrine Club.Always the entertainer, Jason was a member of the Augusta Go Cart and Alee Hillbilly parade units.Many days were spent raising money and raising cane to inspire joy and hope in children everywhere, especially those under the care of the Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
Jason will be lovingly remembered by Jessica, his wife and best friend of 23 years.Jason is also survived by his Uncle Jack Jenkins, brother Henry Jenkins (Georgia), his sisters-in-law Tina Jenkins and Missy Jones (Rick), his nephews and nieces, Christopher, Amanda, and Jonathon Jenkins, Madison and Miley Jones, and Joshua and Jeremy Jenkins, his in-laws Wendell and Becky Barefield and countlessfamily and friends that were dear to him.
Jason was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Linda Jenkins, and his brothers, Carl and Tommy Joe Jenkins.
Memorial Services will be 2:00pm Saturday, December 22 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
We ask that everyone celebrate Jason's memory and that any contributions in honor of Jason's life be made to the Morris Slotin Fund at Alee Temple of Savannah, 100 Eisenberg Drive Savannah, GA31406.The Morris Slotin Fund provides transportation for the Alee Roadrunners to transport patients and their families to appointments at the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
