James "Cozy" Robert Sanders

May 26, 1949 — July 28, 2012

James Robert Sanders "Cozy", 63, of Waynesboro, GA entered into rest at his residence on Saturday, July 28, 2012. Mr. Sanders was a member of East Burke Baptist Church. He retired as a motor grader operator for the Burke County Road Department and was known by family and friends as an avid hunter and fisherman.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Thursday, August 2, 2012 at DeLoach-McKerley Funeral Home, 842 North Liberty Street, Waynesboro, GA 30830.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, August 3, 2012 at East Burke Baptist Church, 6564 Highway 24 South, Sardis, GA 30456 with the Rev. Ernest Johnson & Art Baldwin officiating followed by interment at Corinth Christian Church Cemetery, 3174 Stoney Bluff Road, Girard, GA 30426.

He was preceded in death by his parents Forrest Sanders & Maggie Weeks Sanders; brother Gene Sanders; sister Mattie Johnson; nephew Bobby Sanders.

Survivors include his daughters Greta Sanders Grant (Carl) of Waynesboro, GA & Jamie Sanders Daily (Chris) of Fritch, TX; grandchildren Brittany Sanders, Dillon Jaworski, Stormy Willis, Andrew Daily, Chris Inglett, Ryan Inglett, Ricky Inglett & Joey Inglett; great-grandson Brandon Bailey Jr.; nephews Ernest Johnson (June), Mike Sanders (Penny), Chris Parrish (Chelsie); Ray Johnson (Amber) & Spanky Sanders (Tasha); nieces Becky Sanders, Amanda Johnson & Sweetie Atkinson (Danny); significant other Tina Adams; good friend Lori Redd; his beloved pet Co-Co and many more loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Mock, Spanky Sanders, Dillon Jaworski, Jeremy Johns, Ronald Blackwelder, Timmy Oglesby, James "Jimbo" Sanders, & Ray Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of the Burke County Road Dept.
