James Karl Otto, Jr., 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Hephzibah on Wednesday, December 31, 2024. He was born in Pensacola, FL on February 16, 1959, to the late James Karl and Arlene Georgia Kressler Otto. He worked as a welder/pipe fitter. Karl's passions were hunting, fishing, taking care of his animals, gardening, and helping others. He was a neighbor others could count on if they needed help. He was very independent and took pride in doing things on his own. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fritz Karl Otto II.
He is survived by four children, Paul Otto, Jamie Haynes (Eric), James Otto III (Jennifer), and Dylan Harty (Brooke); seven grandchildren, Kayla Baxter, Alijah Haynes, Aydan Haynes, Adrian Haynes, Kiley Harty, Emma Otto, and Hagen Harty; three siblings, Georgia Smith (Harvey), Debra Wages, and Erich Otto (Debbie); several nieces and nephews; and his best friend Buffy Bell.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00am January 11, 2025 at Southside Baptist Church, 3612 Mike Padgett Hwy, Augusta, GA 30906.
