James Melvin Click, Sr.

January 11, 1938 — October 12, 2022

James Melvin Click, Sr., 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 12, 2022. He was born in Springfield, GA and was a lifelong resident of Burke County. He retired from Olin Corporation and was owner of Click Trucking Company. He was a former member of the Burke County Planning Commission and a former Girard City Councilman. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps. For many years, Melvin was active in the Marine Corps League and the American Legion. He loved God and his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeanette Mallard Click; a son, James Click, Jr. of Waynesboro; a granddaughter, Rio Keates and her husband Ryan-John of Davenport, FL; a brother, Thomas Click of Keysville; and a sister, Pat Clarke of Millen. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm Thursday, October 20 at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be held 3:00pm Thursday, October 20 at Sardis Baptist Cemetery with Bill Lively officiating.
