James Edwin Blount, 89, entered into rest Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was a native of Vidalia and a lifelong resident of Waynesboro. He played football and was a graduate of Waynesboro High School. James was a member of the Clark Drugstore Coffee Club and First United Methodist Church. He owned and operated Blount Fish Market for over 60 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia B. Blount; and six siblings, Joe Blount, Edca Blount, Viana West, Virginia Glisson, Perry Blount, Jr., and Linda Lovett.
He is survived by a son, Joe Blount (Gwen) of Conyers, GA; two daughters, Paulette Black (Randy) of Waynesboro and Pam Ivey (Frank) of Conyers, GA; six grandchildren, Amy Adams (Ryan), Emily Williams (Ryan), Allison Bodin (John), Bethany Blount, Will Blount, and Ben Blount; five great grandchildren, Camryn, Brandon, Evan, Logan, and Hannah; and a sister, Jane Blount Murphy of Brenham, TX.
Graveside Services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, January 13 at Burke Memorial Gardens with Rev. Isaac Salgado officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregiver, Christine Walker.
