Waynesboro, GA - Jack Ivester Rogers, 71, entered into rest at Burke Medical Center on Saturday, February 26, 2011, after an extended illness.Mr. Rogers was a member of First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his father, Quinton "Peanut" Rogers, and his brother, Jerry Leo Rogers.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Thelma Parker Rogers; his daughter, Terri Rogers Lariscy (Larry); his mother, Winnie Ivester Rogers; his sister, Joan Rogers Collins; and his grandchildren, Stephen Matthew Crooms, Larry Michael Lariscy, Samantha Morgan Crooms, and Sylvia Macy Crooms.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 28, at DeLoach-McKerley Funeral Home.
The Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, at Burke Memorial Gardens with Dr. G. Al Wright, Jr. and Rev. Wayne Dixon officiating.If able to attend, the following have been asked to serve as Honorary Pallbearers:Dr. Walter Voyles, Dr. Lamar Murray, Dr. Johnny Christian, Dr. Robert Fulcher, Charles McGregor, Evans Crockett, Hubert Crooms, Don Marchman, and employees of Burke Truck & Tractor Company.
