Hugh R. Walden

Waynesboro - Hugh R. Walden 66, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Doctor's Hospital. Hugh was a lifelong resident of Burke County, Georgia. He was a member of the Gough Baptist Church. Hugh farmed for many years and then retired from the Pipefitters Local 150. Hugh was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed riding horses, hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded death by his parents, J.B. Walden and Rosa Walden.
Surviving are, his children, Ben Walden and wife Lisa, Matt Walden and Beth Walden; his sisters, Gloria W. Johnson and husband Charlie, Ellen W. Hargrove and husband Fred and Helen Walden; his brothers, Keith Walden and Emory Walden and wife JoAnn; his grandchildren, Jackson Walden, Parker Walden, Joseph Walden and numerous nieces and nephews.
Active Pallbearers will be Charlie Johnson, III, Fred Hargrove, Harold Boyce, Charles Johnson IV, Brandon Hargrove and Phil Walden.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Wes Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Burke Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to a charity of one's choice.
