Homer Frazier

June 1, 1933 — September 2, 2017

Waynesboro, GA- Mr. Homer Frazier, age 84, of Waynesboro, entered into rest Saturday, September 2, 2017. He was born on June 1, 1933 in Girard, GA to the late J.L. Frazier and Minnie Wimberly Frazier. A lifelong resident of Burke County, Homer retired from Southern Auto and the Waynesboro Housing Authority. He was an upholsterer, avid golfer, fisherman, and gardener. Mr. Frazier was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of VFW.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tommie Boynton Elliott Frazier; two brothers, Henry Frazier and Herschel Frazier; and a sister, Lavenia Carlson.

He is survived by two sons, Steve Elliott (Spring) of Waynesboro and Gene Nelson (Beverly) of Waynesboro; a brother, Reuben Frazier of Girard; four sisters, Shelby Carlson of Gerber, CA, Melba Kicklighter of Millen, GA, Susie Barefield (James) of Waynesboro, and Louise McClain (Al) of Alexander; four grandchildren, Melissa Bazemore (Chris) of Statesboro, Craig Elliott (Amie) of Waynesboro, Jayme Elliott (Haley) of Waynesboro, and Ben Nelson (Elyse) of Waynesboro; eight great grandchildren, Lauryn, Lane, Caleb, Colson, Wyatt, Sawyer, Sarah Beth, and Julie Anna; many nieces and nephews; a special friend, Gail Mosley of Swainsboro; and close family friends, Lindy and Al Perkins of Waynesboro.

Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, September 6 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Dann officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Burke Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Craig Elliott, Ben Nelson, Jayme Elliott, Chris Bazemore, Chris Stewart, Al McClain, Hank Tinley, and Shawn Barefield. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Senior Men's Golf Group at Waynesboro County Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
