James Hill McClellan, Sr., 81, of Hephzibah passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at his residence. He was born on February 21, 1940, to the late Rufus Tamp and Evelyn Walden McClellan. Hill loved animals and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. Hill was an employee of Boral Brick aka (Merry Brothers) for over 37 year and worked for John Deere. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy McClellan, R.W. McClellan, and Bobby McClellan; and a sister, Annelle Chance.
He is survived by his wife, Lynette McClellan of Hephzibah; sons, James Hill McClellan, Jr. (Beverly) of Hephzibah, and Thomas Michael McClellan (Janet) of Blythe; brother, Johnny McClellan of Waynesboro; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life honoring Hill's life will be held Tuesday, August, 10th 2021, at Miracle Baptist Church (1308 Hephzibah-McBean Rd, Hephzibah, GA) in the fellowship hall at 3:30 pm.
