Henry Warren Glisson, Sr. 80 devoted husband, father and grandfather entered into rest on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in Waynesboro, Georgia. Henry was born in Millen, Georgia along with his twin sister, Henrietta on May 12, 1943. He was a lifelong resident of Girard, Georgia. Henry was a farmer, Army National Guard veteran serving active duty during the Berlin Crisis. He was the oldest living member of the Burke County Farm Bureau Executive Board, he was a SGA graduate, and cooked the BBQ for the Waynesboro Rotary Club Golf Classic for many years. Henry loved his family, his community, his nation and his Savior.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Burney Glisson and Allean Knight Glisson, sister, Bessie G. Adams and husband William.
Surviving are, his wife of 54 years, Sylvia Dixon Glisson of Girard, son, Henry Warren Glisson, Jr. and wife Brandi of Augusta, sisters, Jerrie Chiodo and husband Joe of Sharon, PA; Henrietta G. Carmack of Girard and Jane Syms and husband Terry of Waynesboro, grandson, Hayden Warren Glisson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023 in the Bethany Methodist Church with the Brother Byron Lowery officiating, with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the Service.
Active Pallbearers will be Shane Davis, Bill Godbee, William Cox, Daniel Dixon, Herbie Grace, Troy Smith and Stan Hillis.
