Waynesboro, GA – Helen Cooper Drew, age 97, of Waynesboro, GA, entered into rest Wednesday, July 12, 2017.
She was born in Mitchell, GA on August 8, 1919 to the late Joseph and Nancy Wilkins Cooper. She was a lifelong resident of Waynesboro and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harvey D. Drew, Sr.; her daughter, Nancy Drew Thompson; and a sister, Sarah Cooper DeLaigle.
She is survived by her son, Harvey D. "Tim" Drew, Jr. and his wife Judy of North Augusta, SC; three grandchildren, Dea Dea Hutcheson and her husband Troy, Harvey D. "Trey" Drew, III and his wife Melissa, and Jonathan McKie Drew; four great grandchildren, Sydney, Riley, Payton, and Addison Wilson; two sisters, Tippie Usher, and Dot Quick; several nieces and nephews; and two special caregivers, Jerry Ellen Clary, and Mary Kelly.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Friday, July 14, 2017 at DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
The graveside funeral service will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Burke Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro with Reverend John Meyer officiating. Pallbearers will be Trey Drew, Jonathan Drew, Jimmy Drew, Bill Usher, David Usher, Ricky Quick, Jeff Quick, Joby Gresham, and Tyron Morris.
