Waynesboro, GA - Hazel "Renee" Thames Wilson, 58, of Wrens, GA and formerly of Waynesboro, entered into rest Friday, October 9, 2009, at Eisenhower Army Medical Center.She was born in Waynesboro on April 26, 1951 to the late Emory Jackson "Dick" Thames and Hazel Beasley Thames.She was a school bus driver in Burke County for many years, and drove 5 years in McDuffie County, and two years in Jefferson County. She owned her own "Big Rig" and drove many long distance hauls.She was a member of Corinth Christian Church in Girard, but attended Wrens New Hope Church of the Nazarene.She was preceded in death by two brothers, Emory Jackson Thames, Jr. and Raymond Thames; two sisters, Emory Etta Thames and Eloise Thames; and a step-grandson, Kean Wilson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Edward E. Wilson, Sr.; brother, Ralph Thames (Rosa) of Tennille; sister, Mary Ellen Lariscy (Ray) of Sylvania; uncles, Robert Thames of Sardis, Franklin Beasley of Hephzibah, and Henry Beasley of Waynesboro; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members; seven step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11, at DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 12, at Corinth Christian Church in Girard with Rev. Bill Ansley officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.Pallbearers will be Glenn Thames, Joseph Thames, Ben Thames, Charles Thames, Albert Thames, Herman Zipperer, "Baldy" Zipperer, and Derrick Liles.The family and pallbearers are asked to assemble by 10:15 a.m. at the home of Janice Liles, 6590 Highway 24 S, Sardis, GA30456.
